                               Commodore"s Notices

To All PYC Members,

On Saturday 10/21/17, the Club had its’ last scheduled Board Meeting for 2017. While our PYC Secretary Barb Siok is preparing the meeting minutes we wanted to provide a few highlights from the meeting:

For 2018 there will be no increase in either member dues or capital assessments.

The Marina Planning Team presented an interim marina plan for 2018. This new plan would fit in the existing footprint of the current PYC marina and provide enhanced safety and stability with new docks. The interim plan design can be found on the PYC website. Marilyn Steiner, Finance Committee Chairman, presented a financial plan that would allow for this new docking system to be paid for with funds generated by the current slip holders on a pay forward schedule and borrowing and payback from the Capital Fund. The financial plan for the interim marina can also be found on the website. No additional assessments from the general membership will be required for this interim marina. The Board discussed this new plan and voted in favor of the plan and authorized the purchase of the new system.

The House Committee announced that they will be proposing both organizational and staffing changes for the upcoming 2018 season. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience while at the club from both a service and food standpoint. Our plan is to utilize the strengths of current staff where possible, bring in new staff where needed and say goodbye to those who cannot meet our goal of member satisfaction. The House Committee is still formulating the plan and will have it finalized in the near future.

It has been a pleasure serving as your Commodore for the 2017 season. Best regards, Russ Murphy
