THURS, May 16 -- PYC OFFICIALLY OPENS with lunch, and FIRST BASKET NIGHT 5 pm. Among items offered: smelt basket, veggie gyro, and “smashburger.” [NOTE: First two Basket Nights this season are on Thursdays due to food delivery/staff scheduling considerations. Basket Nights returns to Wednesdays beginning May 29.]

Fri, May 17 – Open for lunch and dinner.

Sat, May 18 – Open for lunch and dinner.

Sat, May 18 – New member orientation 4-5 pm. (Note: Another orientation session to be held Sat, June 22, from 3:30-4 pm ... to be followed by 4-5 pm cocktail party OPEN TO ALL CLUB MEMBERS (come and welcome our 33 new members)

Sun, May 19 – No member services because Club is venue for Pentwater Women’s Club’s “Wine & Art by the Water” annual fundraiser to raise monies for scholarships for local students. 2-5 pm. Thirty different wines to sample, hors d’oeuvres, hand-made quilt raffle, and silent auction (paintings, jewelry, gift baskets, gift certificates). Tickets $25 in advance (on sale soon at many merchants in Pentwater and Hart); $30 at door. For info, call Claudia at 231-233-9717, or Vicky at 231-869-4252.

Thursday, May 23 – SUMMER HOURS START!! Basket Night 5 pm.

Wed, May 29 – Basket Night returns to Wednesday’s 5 pm. SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE by 8-piece Pentwater High School Jazz Band 5:30 – 7 pm. We’ll be “passing the hat” to help support this fine Pentwater Schools music program.

Fri, May 31 – “Jazzy Music Deck Party” 5-7 pm; welcoming back popular jazz musician Rick Hicks.

Sun, June 2 – Planning Committee’s briefing for members re Club’s Strategic Plan. 2 pm. It’s a living document that reflects data/input gathered by committee members; updated as initiatives are

accomplished and new goals are identified. Latest version posted in pentwateryachtclub.com > Members Only > Strategic Planning. It’s password-protected: PYC*2019 (please don’t share).

Thurs, June 6 – First Thursday Night Dinner -- Flank Steak, chaired by Marsha/Mike LaHaye. Meal served at 6:30 pm. Tickets sold at bar beginning May 29.

Sat, June 8 – "Taste of Ireland" buffet dinner 5:30 pm, with special appearance by "Steel City Rovers Band" at 7 pm. Ticket price $25 for dinner/entertainment. Tickets on sale at bar beginning May 16 for members/their guests. If tickets remain June 1, people on wait list will be invited to purchase them. Sat, June 29 – “Pentwater Boat Parade of Lights.” Decorate your boat and/or yourself to this year’s theme “Adventures Through Books.” Entries line up 9 pm. Thursday Night Dinner volunteer sign-up sheets now posted on bulletin board. Volunteers needed for most 12-person teams. Still need to recruit 3 event chairs for: July 4 hog roast (supplier arranged), August 8 and August 15 (supplier arranged). When purchasing meals/beverages/items from new personnel, please show your 2019 membership card. See Jordan Aebig, Macy Felter or any flag officer to get your card.

Please record each guest’s name in sign-in book at front door. Indicate whether they’re house guest (can use club anytime during their stay in member’s home, but must be accompanied by member) or guest that evening (may only visit up to 4 times per season, regardless of which member invites them).
