Highlights Next 7 Days … Sara’s upcoming dinner features:  osso bucco, and fried green tomatoes.

Thurs, Aug. 15 – Thursday Night Dinner 6:30 PM.  Lake Michigan Fish Boil.  The Fishmonger’s Wife (of Muskegon) returns with Lake Michigan whitefish … plus corn-on-the-cob, red potatoes, coleslaw, blueberry pie!!!

Sat, Aug 17 – Annual Meeting.  8:30 AM.  Club opens at 8 AM.  Your attendance in person or by proxy is requested to assure quorum.  See Aug. 12 e-blast memo from Commodore Jim Hieftje, who noted in it that draft proposed Bylaw change involving electronic voting has been withdrawn for further study.  Members will vote on: (1) slate of flag officers for 2020, (2) two directors, and (3) three proposed changes to bylaws. Sat, Aug 17 –Commodore’s Ball.  Sold out!  6:30 PM social.  7:30 PM dinner. Questions to Chris Conroy:  630.606.8301 or chconroy57@gmail.com.  [Note:  limited lunch service – soup and sandwiches -- because staff/volunteers will be preparing for Commodore’s Ball.  No regular dinner menu.]

Mon, Aug 19 – Special Mexican Dinner.  Chef Sara will be guided by her Mexican kitchen staff as they together prepare dishes for us based on their families’ traditional Mexican recipes.  The real deal!!!  

Highlights On Horizon … 

Thurs, Aug. 22 – Thursday Night Dinner.  6:30 PM.  “Farm to Table.”  Pork loin stuffed with zucchini and yellow summer squash, steamed green beans, redskin potatoes w/bacon & onions, fresh greens and berry salad w/berry vinaigrette, peach cobbler with Country Dairy vanilla ice cream.  Available for purchase in bar: Jomagrha wine (local), and Starving Artists brew.

Sat, Aug 24 – Wooden and Classic Boat Show, 10 AM.  Event open to public.  Buffet lunch. Awards 3 PM.  Parade of Boats/Commodore Review 3:30 PM.  Regular dinner menu for members/guests available beginning 5 PM.  

Thurs, Aug. 29 – Last Thursday Night Dinner of Season.  6:30 PM.  “Tailgate Party.”  Brats, dogs, wings, deluxe nacho bar, variety of salads, desserts and pudding shots.  Dress in your favorite team colors and come ready to cheer them on!

Fri, Aug. 30 – “Blues, Brews and Barbecue” Final Deck Party of Season, featuring Thirsty Perch Band.  6-9 PM. 

Thank you’s … to Donna Hieftje for her leadership -- and to Greg, Shelly, and Maddy Green; Betty Pleva, and Judy Nieman for all their time and effort to create PYC’s Homecoming float.  Thanks also to Laura Ellam for donating candy handed out along parade-watchers, and to Patterson Marine for trailer and work space.  And huge thanks to flag officers, staff, and Jordan Aebig for their time and help on parade day.

Reminder, neither breakfast nor lunch is offered on Monday’s to allow for administrative time.  Bar opens at 10; dinner begins at 5 PM.  

Other Summer Hour Highlights:  Club opens 10 AM daily. Daily services include (except Thursday):  (1) Bar hours:  Mon-Thurs 10 AM-10 PM.  Fri-Sat 10 AM-11 PM. Sun 10 AM-7 PM.  (2) Broken Mast Happy Hour 3-5 PM.  (3) Lunch 11 AM-4 PM, (4) bar snacks only 4-5 PM to facilitate kitchen’s changeover to dinner (5) Kitchen closes:  9 PM on Mon/Tues/Wed/Fri/Sat; and 7 PM on Sun.

SEATING IS LIMITED DURING HIGH VOLUME PERIODS, SO RESERVATIONS ARE HIGHLY ENCOURAGED FOR PARTIES OF: (1) ANY SIZE ON PIZZA/SALAD MONDAY, and WEDNESDAY BASKET NIGHT, (2) ANY SIZE ON FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS BETWEEN 5-7 PM, and (3) 8 OR MORE ON ANY DAY.
