Hello,

Imagine my surprise when, standing at the sailing club I work at
reading a very witty piece about baggy wrinkles, (We challenge our ASA
Basic Keelboat students with that word for bonus points after their
first day out, and recently a student returned the next morning to class
with the page printed out so we posted it on our bulletin board) when I
happened to notice the address at the bottom and just about fell over!

Growing up I spent my summers in Pentwater, (my family has had a house
there on Wythe street since before the turn of the century) and I spent
as much time on the water with my Sunfish as possible. I raced with the
club for several years and ate more than my share of tasty Thursday
night dinners. I know my parents thoroughly enjoyed the social
activities, and to this day I have the fondest of memories of the
Pentwater Yacht Club and of both of those wonderful lakes, (the Big one
and the Little one!)

I am now a certified ASA sailing instructor and work at a large sailing
school and club with locations around the Pacific Northwest. I race
regularly on the Columbia River, Puget Sound, and Lake Washington. I've
recently made my first trip down the Coast of the Pacific and my wife
and I are working on getting crew positions for a delivery from Hawaii
to Seattle this summer for our first offshore passage. We plan to buy
our own boat soon with an eye toward running commercial charters and
going cruising ourselves in the future.

Sailing has become my way of life, a joy I share with my family and with
my students. The wonderful times I spent sailing my Sunfish there at the
Pentwater Yacht Club are still among my fondest memories. Please give my
regards to those wonderful waters and the folks who continue to enjoy
them and the club.

Fair Winds!
Sincerely, Stephen Frankland
